About Us

We are parents to a sweet little girl, Lily, with Tuberous Sclerosis Complex.  This disease causes non-cancerous tumors to grow on all of your organs. Lily has an innumerable amount of brain tumors, at least 13+. She also has uncontrollable seizures, developmental delay, sensory integration issues, and sometimes falls into the autism spectrum.  Lily is about to turn three and she is unable to walk, talk, or feed herself. We have spent much of her life in hospital rooms, emergency rooms, doctor's offices, and blood labs. We spend much of our days doing therapy for Lily; she has a special education teacher, a speech therapist, occupational/physical therapist, and preschool teacher that come to our home.  We spend much of our day doing therapy, logging medical information, and feeding her.  Our medical expenses are shocking and the exhaustion and fear we face at times can be shattering.

That said, we will not sit in sorrow and crumble.  Our purpose in life is to find laughter and happiness in even the darkest of places. Lily has taught us many things, the most important being--always live in the present moment because if you don't, the disease wins--it takes over your whole life.  We often say around here, "Don't live in the seizure." If we're focused on the last long seizure, we miss all the seizure-free moments in-between.  We want to fill our lives with adventure, baking, crafts, books, music, film, and suck the marrow out of life.
